Its often thought that to get lean & strong you cant even look at the dessert menu let along have anything…well thats just not the case!Its not about trying to never have a little treat and when you eventually do slip, end up feeling horrible guilty about it! No thanks, that’s not for me. Do I enjoy the odd treat? YES 100% and I don’t feel guilty about it after either. Is this some crazy realisation that I can eat what ever I want? Hardly… I know that 80% of the time I eat whole natural foods and train hard throughout the week so the odd little treat is not a problem. Note the key words here “odd little treat” that doesn’t mean I eat so many cookies I might as well have bought shares in the company. Unfortunately some foods are just plain addictive and never leave you feeling satisfied even after you have gone through the whole bag…My advice AVOID those foods like the plague and find an alternative that you still enjoy but can actually moderate.  Chocolate for example, buy a normal milk chocolate bar and its gone in record time but buy a decent dark chocolate and you can enjoy a few squares and thats enough. Another example might be a full on apple crumble with cream and its alternative a homemade oat crumble with greek yoghurt.

Don’t take my word for it, try the recipe for yourself:

Ingredients:

  • 3x large cooking apples

  • 1x cup porridge oats

  • 1x cup ground almonds

  • 1 tbs Honey

  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

  • 0% Fat Greek yoghurt (Make sure its actual greek yoghurt and NOT greek style)

Instructions:

  1. Slice the apples and put into over dish

  2. Mix the oats, ground almonds and cinnamon together and pour onto the apples

  3. Drizzle with honey and place into over for 20 minutes at 200C

  4. Serve with greek yoghurt
